Camille Morgan is an independent curator and arts administrator in higher education at Columbia College Chicago. Her curatorial focus stems from her background in Fashion Business (Bachelor of Science, Kent State University) and studies in the History of Textiles and Dress (Master of Arts, University of Southampton, UK). In her practice, she blends contemporary art with fashion objects and theory, never overlooking their place society at large, especially within the overlapping spheres of race, ethnicity, and gender. Her past exhibits include: “Layer Cake: Tales from a Quinceañera,” “Black Gossamer,” and “S/He Love Me.” In Spring 2012, Camille will join Columbia’s faculty in Fashion Studies, teaching a fashion/material culture curatorial practice class. Camille hails from Flossmoor, IL, a pretty bedroom village in the South suburbs of Chicago.
